PVS Dominates MIST Nashville Tournament

Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament (MIST) is a program of competitions designed to bring high school students from across the country together to develop their communication, creative, and leadership skills, as well as their understanding of Islam. The tournaments take place over a weekend, with the awards ceremony taking place on the final night.

On March 11-13, PVS high school students went to Nashville to participate in the tournament. The students competed in a wide variety of categories, including art, Quran, sports, debate, nasheed, and speeches where they prepared their entries.

One PVS student shared, “This was an unforgettable experience. Through MIST, I was able to show my 901 spirit, interact with people from all over Tennessee, and compete in many competitions. The fact that Muslim students like myself gathered in one place to compete in a series of competitions while still having fun was very pleasant to see. Even though competitions required some preparation, it was still a fun experience. Taking a break and not having to deal with stressful school matters was refreshing. I am looking forward to competing and meeting students from all over the country at the next level Inshallah.”

Alhamdulillah, PVS students won the majority of the competitions. In addition to dominating many trophies, PVS demonstrated their accomplishments by winning the "Best Overall Team" award. PVS student, Ahmad Khatib took home the award for “Best Overall Individual” as he had the most overall points in the competition.

After Competing in MIST Nashville at the regional level, our competitors will face other regions at MIST Nationals, InshaAllah.
