Meet Sister Attiya Haque: Enhancing Student Wellness at Pleasant View School

Student wellness and healthy lifestyle choices are linked to academic success. Pleasant View School introduced a valuable addition to the school community, Sister Attiya Haque, the school nurse.

The Panther's Post recently talked to Ms. Haque to learn about her.

Q: Give us an introduction. Tell us a little about yourself.

A: “I am originally from Pakistan, but I was born in the States. I left the United States when I was 6 years old. I was brought up in Saudi Arabia. I did medical school in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Finally, in 2004, I moved back to the USA. I have 3 girls, Alhamdulillah. I started volunteering at PVS when my daughter began attending the school!”

Q: What times and how often are you here?

A: “I come to campus on Wednesdays and spend the full day here. On some weeks, I come on Tuesdays as well.”

Q: What does a typical day look like as a school nurse?

A: “My typical day as the school nurse looks like going through our medicine inventory, computing, and then accompanying the kids when they play outside. A usual day involves two to three kids falling on the playground, allergy issues, body aches, pink eye, or taking care of cold symptoms.”
