PVS Sports Seasons Return

Alhamdulillah, on October 4th, the sports practices and conditioning started with everyone extremely excited to get back into sports. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, PVS sports teams and practices had been put on hold until now. However, thanks to Br. Ibrahim Bell, a Physical Education teacher and Coach at PVS, this year has started off with our sports seasons back on track.

So far, Boys' basketball and Girls' Volleyball and Soccer have been training after school and on weekends. The middle school boys' basketball team train: Monday, from 4:00 to 6:00, Friday, from 3:00 to 5:00, and Saturday, from 11:00 to 1:00. The high school boys' basketball team train: Wednesday and Thursday, from 4:00 to 6:00, and Saturday, from 1:00-3:00. The middle and high school girls' volleyball team train every Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:30. The high school girls' soccer team train: Wednesday and Thursday, from 4:00 to 5:30, and Saturday, from 2:00-4:00.

Nizar Alwageeh, a senior basketball player at PVS, said about his personal experience, "Covid started and unfortunately halted any sports progression for myself and my teammates. Practicing by myself was not motivational. Once Covid situations started to slow down, sports have been a lot more motivating now that I'm back with my team. I've also seen a sudden increase in me and my team's skill level. We play a lot at MIC and PVS whenever we have time. I really enjoy our Basketball practices because of how challenging they are. Also, shoutout to Br. Bell for being the best coach out there.”
