NHS Students Start the New Year with Service

The inaugural class of the PVS Chapter of the National Honor Society held its induction ceremony in May of 2021 to celebrate the academic and extracurricular achievements of the juniors and seniors. Even though the school year just started, NHS members have already contributed to the school in a variety of ways. Students have already engaged in service, which is one of the tenets of the National Honor Society.
NHS students wanted to show their appreciation for teachers and staff as they prepared to start the new year. Students created and delivered “welcome back” packages for teachers. The welcome back packages were handed to each staff member and teacher at the school on the first day of the 2021-2022 school year. The packages included hand sanitizer, dry erase markers, and other items to help keep teachers safe while actively engaging their students during our return to in-person classes. In addition to the welcome back packages, NHS students welcomed students back to school, by giving guides to parents and helping students find their classes. Many of the NHS members volunteered as ambassadors and helped our new and younger students adjust on the first day so that they could start off their new year with focus and a growth mindset.
NHS will have many more projects and activities this year. To learn more about the application process, please contact Ms. Jennifer.
