My Education Video Contest

Four PVS students participated in a nation-wide contest titled, Center for Education Reform’s (CER) "My Education Video: 'With Justice for All.' The mission of the Center for Education Reform is “to expand educational opportunities that lead to improved economic outcomes for all Americans, particularly our youth, ensuring that conditions are ripe for innovation, freedom, and flexibility throughout U.S. education.” Participants were required to create a short 3-minute video over the summer discussing the following questions: “Has your school delivered on the promise of equal access and educational excellence, particularly during these challenging times? Tell us how well your school did — or didn’t do — in providing you a great education.”

Participants were required to create the video answering the questions, posting it on YouTube, and sharing it with a larger audience allowing recognition of the efforts done by the school. The video with the most views, likes, and comments could qualify for a grand prize of $20,000 scholarship or 10 students could qualify for a scholarship of $2,500. Our students competed against 8,000 other students and received honorable mentions for their entries.
