    The City of Brass Author S.A. Chakraborty Visits 9th Grade

    On Thursday, April 18, author S.A. Chakraborty visited Mrs. Angela Alomari’s ninth grade English class for a personal meet-and-greet about her debut novel, The City of Brass, which the class had been reading for a few weeks. With the epic storyline and thrilling events, the freshmen almost immediately fell in love with Chakraborty’s book. “The City of Brass was an exceptional novel with quite a dramatic storyline and I would highly recommend it to others,” said Ibrahim Malik.

Getting a qualifying score on AP tests can go a long way in applying for college, and many colleges give college credit for scores of 4 and 5.     Like many other PVS competitions, the PVS Annual Science Fair was held virtually this year. In the week after spring break, students presented their projects through zoom.     Pleasant View School elementary school students participated in the Arabic Spelling Bee on March 26. The levels were divided into two: Level A: 1st & 2nd grade Level B: 3rd to 5th grade The first place winner from each division will be competing at the national level.     Pleasant View Students Attend Muslim Day on the Hill

    This year, Pleasant View students participated in the annual Muslim Day on the Hill hosted by local nonprofit AMAC. AMAC, the American Muslim Advisory Council, hosts a yearly event to encourage civic engagement among Tennesee Muslims. During the event, constituents meet with their local representatives and are able to tour the Tennessee state capitol.
